Journey Story
We set off early in the morning from Nalagarh on foot for a pilgrimage to the Shaktipeeth Maa Naina Devi ji temple.
We have Rahul, Sonu, and Golu with us.
We set off on foot from Nangal in Nalagarh at around 5 in the morning.
Breakfast Break
Rahul ji had brought parathas from home, which we ate along the way. After walking for about 9 kilometers, we reached Panjehra at around 7 PM. We didn't feel tired at all.

The villages along the way are very beautiful.
A road passes through the village, leading to the temple. Village life is very beautiful, and the people here are very kind. The villagers raise buffaloes and goats, and they earn their livelihood by growing crops in the fields and selling milk.

Kolan Daa Toba Small Town
About 3 kilometers before Kolan Daa Toba, we came across a railway line that is currently under construction. This railway line is being built from Bhanupali to Bilaspur. We then started walking along this track towards Kolan Daa Toba.

Now the uphill path begins.
We were feeling a little tired by the time we reached Kolan Daa Tobba. From there, we had to climb 7748 steps to reach Shaktipeeth Maa Naina Devi ji.

We made Maggi before starting the climb.
But we also wanted to make Maggi noodles. So, without wasting any time, we built a makeshift stove out of stones and started cooking the Maggi. After eating the Maggi, we felt a little more energetic and started climbing the steps.

Now we started walking uphill.
The path was now uphill, and we were feeling tired. We walked a little, rested a little, and finally reached the bus stand below the temple. Exhausted but chanting "Jai Mata Di," we had finally arrived very close to the temple. It was around 7:30 PM. We had some tea at a tea stall nearby, rested for a while, and then, chanting "Jai Mata Di," we headed towards the temple. I don't remember the exact time, but it was around 8:30 PM when we reached the temple entrance. However, we had to perform the darshan and puja in the morning, so we rented a room nearby and went to sleep.

The road route from Naina Devi Temple to Bhakra features a gentle downward slope, so one does not experience much fatigue. This path is dotted with beautiful mountains and villages; the village life here—characterized by the rearing of cows, buffaloes, and goats, lush mango trees and green fields, waterfalls cascading down the mountains, and dense forests and hills surrounding the settlements—felt truly charming. Indeed, the entire scenery was quite magnificent.
Some beautiful places photos during the hike.

We crossed the river by boat.
After reaching Bhakra, we crossed the Sutlej River by boat; it is also known as Gobind Sagar Lake.
From here, it is a hilly path with a steep ascent.
After crossing the river by boat, we reached the bank and resumed our journey on foot; it was now a steep uphill climb, and it must have taken us approximately two hours to reach Shahatalai.
We rented a room for the night and went to sleep.

Sweet rotis are made here.
It is believed that Baba Balaknath Ji is very fond of sweet *rots* (sweetened flatbreads); therefore, you will find freshly prepared sweet *rots* available at shops throughout the area.
They sing devotional songs here.
Here, drums are played, and along with them, bhajans dedicated to Baba Balaknath Ji are sung.
